Sometime today, get to a Target [yeah, no bias] or a hardware store like THAT ONE OVER THERE [pointing to the ACE Hardware a block away] and get a shovel [not like this broken plastic one that some cute chick in a nearby apartment building brought over], rock salt, and sand or kitty litter. Ask them and they'll tell you what you need. Allright? Good luck."

(*-A guess. I didn't ask, and he didn't say. Earlier this year, it went for eight months between power-failure induced reboots, and had been up for over three months before dying.

The cause of death is arcing in a high-voltage section of the CRT drive circuitry, causing the power supply to shut down almost as soon as it starts. The cpu is fine, and a fix is probably possible, but until then, it sits on the floor, looking forlorn and naked outside of its plastic casings.

Long live the iMac, may it live again.
